About Me

Hello, Dear Reader,

I heard that you are curious about me. The birds whisper that you are asking “Who is Bea? Who is Bea?”. And to be completely honest, Dear Reader, I’m still trying to figure that out too.

But for starters, my actual name is Berfin (Shhh, that’s a secret I usually don’t share with my online friends but I trust you.) and I have been surviving on this earth for 26 years. I did some crazy things during those long years like attending a prestigious law school for 3 years, dropping out, completely changing my life, and starting everything again with another field I enjoy, that aligns with my passions and is true to my personality (but won’t make me any money)... or adopting 2 kittens on a whim, or couchsurfing my way through Europe because I was depressed, or waiting 20 hours under the summer sun for a concert.

Currently, I am a cat mom of two (I gave birth to them myself (true story)), and a sophomore ELT (English Language Teaching) student at Marmara University, Istanbul.

I am also a huge nerd (My parents thought it was a teenager phase but it wasn’t.) so I spend my free time at home reading or watching something, drinking an unhealthy amount of tea, and snuggling with my cats until they scratch me.

If you would like to learn more about me, think we could be friends, or, God forbid, if you are thinking about dropping out and need to talk with someone who has experience in it, send me an e-mail. I would love to hear from you. (I added a Contact Me widget just for you!)

With love, Bea. x

PS: I will be using this blog to keep track of my learning process and assignments for a course I am taking this semester. It’s called Instructional Technologies and Material Design in ELT and we are learning how to integrate technology into our language learning and teaching. I am very excited (and a little bit nervous) about the upcoming projects. Stick around to see my silly attempts at podcasting and digital storytelling, Dear Reader, it’s going to be fun!
